4.0 out of 5 stars Solid fact-based book about methamphetamines, September 14, 2011
By Tina - This review is from: Crystal Death: North America’s Most Dangerous Drug (Paperback)
Nate Hendley’s book on methamphetamine use in this country is shocking. The cover alone is enough to make people think twice before using drugs. The drastic images show before and after pictures of a woman using meth for only a few years.
“Crystal Death” is fact-based and makes a strong case for not using, without lecturing. The statistics alone are a scare tactic. Once people read about the environmental hazards of meth labs and the ingredients, such as battery acid (yes, battery acid), I would be surprised if anyone educated about the facts would make a decision to use.
This is a great resource for parents to share with their teens and for schools to use in any health and prevention curriculum. The reading level is appropriates for teens as well as adults. Hendley did a solid job researching and presenting a lot of information in just over 100 pages.

I didn’t think I would enjoy this book, but it was very well researched and thought out. It contains not only factual information about meth, arrests and users, but also contains information about meth in popular culture. Definitely a nice introduction book to anyone who wants to know more about meth. Easy to read. Quick book. Nice reference. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews

A very readable, hard hitting book. The input from previous users gives a validity to the facts that are presented as just that. There is very little preaching here and no talking down to anyone. What could have become an academic essay is not, all the information discussed is easily accessible to any reader and while it contains what is effectively a conclusion and future recommendation, again they are pitched so as to resonate with all Help other customers find the most helpful reviews
